NUT Report #16 — James Wood Slugs 1.130
Week 16 is in the books, and a few hitters made it hard to look away. The Los Angeles Dodgers lead the league at 61–36, while the Los Angeles Angels are struggling at 38–59. The seven-day NUT board, the bottom of it, and where things stand for the season — all below.
NUT of the Week
James Wood — WSH · RF
+1.1 NUT · .435/.618/1.130 · 5 HR, 8 RBI · 10-for-23
James Wooddid damage every night this week. Five home runs, 8 RBI, and a 1.130 slugging percentage across 10-for-23 — a +1.1 NUT that topped every hitter in baseball. It's his second time leading this report (he went nuclear back in week 3), and the walks came with the power: a .618 on-base clip for the window.
NUT Insight
Just behind the top spot, Ben Rice and Curtis Mead finished close in the box score but further apart in NUT. Rice hit .400/.471/.967 with 5 HR and 12 RBI for +0.8; Mead went .423/.500/.846 with 3 HR and 5 RBI for +0.7. Mead actually out-hit Rice on average and on-base — the gap is all slugging. NUT prices the extra bases, not the hit total, which is why the guy with fewer hits can win the week's silver medal.
